About Powell
Powell was originally known as Menefee’s Station, a frontier fort, but was later renamed Powell Station after a prominent early settler, leading to its current name. It retains a strong community feel despite its suburban growth.
To get to the airport Take I-75 S to I-640 W, then merge onto US-129 S (Alcoa Hwy). The trip to McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) takes approximately 25-30 minutes.
